Named Joon Summaz- because his style brings to mind summer days. June is when the anticipation of hot days begins and summer nights create memories.

Joon first picked up his lyrical pen while just in 7th grade – while listening to Wu Tang Clan, MOP, Biggie, Capone & Noreaga you can say Hip Hop at it’s peak. The English language and the many ways he could pose his thoughts intrigued him it was a national gift.

Born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY of course he has that BK swag that only the kings of Hip Hop possess.

Joon honed his craft like many before him in the street corners and underground cyphers and like many he also found himself living the lifestyle of those Hip-Hop lyrics until he statistically found himself in Prison. Sometimes forced solitude leads to forced thought. Joon’s rhymes took on a new direction. As his vision for himself became clearer he no longer wanted people to hear him. He wanted people to see what he was saying – visualize the pictures he painted with his words, and feel the impact of those images.
